10 Pet Friendly Bethesda Buildings in 2025

“What are the pet friendly Bethesda buildings?” often lead the list of questions that buyers have as they start their search for a new home. Generally, it is because the buyer is looking for a condo building that will accept their dog or cat. Sometimes however, it is because the buyer does not like dogs and does not want to share an elevator with them. Both positions are understandable!

Here is a list of 10 pet friendly Bethesda buildings. (Of course, there are exceptions to a building’s condo rules such as a verified service dog.)

The Adagio

The Adagio Condominiums at 6820 Wisconsin Avenue are perfectly located to enjoy all the amenities of Bethesda – the shops, restaurants and movie theaters, the Capital Crescent Trail, the pools, and gyms. You and your pet will enjoy taking long walks on the Capital Crescent Trail or going to Norwood Park.  Empty nesters moving from big family homes in Chevy Chase or Potomac love a luxurious condo in Bethesda like the Adagio!  Busy people who want to simplify their living arrangements love the Adagio!  It is a short walk to the metro and across the street from Trader Joe’s and Target. There are 92 units at the Adagio ranging in size from  809 square feet up to 3500 square feet.   There are several floorplans ranging from a one bedroom one bath condo (809 square feet) to a one bedroom plus den with two full baths (900 square feet) to a two bedroom plus den and two and a half bath condo with 1300 square feet, a three bedroom three bath with over 1854 square feet – and then the largest with the 3500 square feet. Many of the condos have balconies or terraces with some looking out on the street life of Wisconsin Avenue and others looking out over the green space of Bethesda and the Capital Crescent Trail.  Some special units offer loft style upper levels with 14 foot ceilings, while others are two stories with private terraces. Standard finishes include walnut hardwood floors, Poggenpohl cabinets, Miele, Bosch and Sub-Zero stainless appliances and marble baths.  One currently on the market has a spectacular open staircase.

The Chase

The Chase in downtown Bethesda at 7500 Woodmont Avenue offers ample sized condos and washers and dryers in all the units. The Chase is pet friendly and walking distance to the Metro! With ample parking in the garage, you can leave your car downstairs and walk everywhere! The Chase is in the Bethesda Chevy Chase High School cluster, which is another fact that makes it so appealing! Your student can easily walk to BCC and Bethesda Elementary. You will love walking to the Bethesda farmers’ market on Sunday mornings and the Bethesda library too! Pets are so welcomed at the Chase that the concierge at the front desk always has dog treats right next to the hard candies for two legged visitors!

The Cheval

Built in 2018, the Cheval luxury condo building is located at 4960 Fairmont Avenue, at 4960 Fairmont Avenue, at the intersection of Fairmont and Old Georgetown Road.  With 71 condos on 17 levels plus first floor retail space, the Cheval is one of the tallest condo buildings in Bethesda.

Cheval was built by SK+I Architecture.   The kitchens at the Cheval have Caesarstone counters, large pantries, Bosch appliances, including a 6 burner gas stove with an upgraded venting system venting directly to the outside and a built in overlay refrigerator.  You will love the breakfast counter with fashionable teardrop light fixtures  and custom-built bright white 42″ cabinets. The Darcy

The Darcy in downtown Bethesda was built in 2015 at 7171 Woodmont Ave. This building is perfect for people downsizing from Potomac and other Montgomery County suburbs and looking for a luxury building in downtown Bethesda, close to the Metro, shops and restaurants that they can share with their beloved pets.

The Darcy has all the style and upgrades of a newer condo building with high end appliances and cabinetry, big windows and luxurious bathrooms. The Darcy in downtown Bethesda is perfect for people who want soft urban, seeking a small town feel in a little city close to a major urban city.  If you want a luxury condo building, then you should consider The Darcy as well as the Stonehall, the Adagio, Lionsgate, and the Cheval.  With only 88 units, the Darcy at 7171 Woodmont Avenue is small enough to know your neighbors. Madison Park

This is a small and friendly building at 5000 Battery Lane which has a real sense of community.  There are only sixty-four Madison Park condominiums in a ten-story building at the edge of the Woodmont Triangle, just a short walk to NIH and Walter Reed. This condo community is close to all the shops and stores in the Woodmont Triangle. Another wonderful thing about the Madison Park Condominiums is that while the lower levels are surrounded by green space and the nearby park with its tennis courts and playground, the upper-level condos have a spectacular and unobstructed view of downtown Bethesda.  You can’t get views like this anywhere but on Battery Lane! And they are not to be missed! The units on the back of the building have spectacular sunrises from their balconies, which will make you appreciate early mornings! Madison Park is very close to NIH and Walter Reed in case you are working there and it is just a short walk to the Marriott Headquarters. The Madison Park is a small building with units ranging in size from approximately 620 square feet up to nearly 1750 square feet.   There are several floorplans ranging from a one bedroom one bath condo (620 square feet) to a three bedroom two and a half bath with over 1700 square feet. Many of the condos have balconies or private terraces with some looking out on the green space of Bethesda.  If you like Battery Lane, then you might also consider the Whitehall or the City Commons of Bethesda, two more pet friendly Bethesda buildings.

The Stonehall

Stonehall Condos is a wonderful luxury pet friendly Bethesda building. Located at 8302 Woodmont Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814, this contemporary nine-story development is the product of Duball LLC and the Resmark Companies. Amenities at Stonehall include a full-service concierge to handle dining reservations, car service, dry cleaning and more. CONDOS OUTSIDE DOWNTOWN BETHESDA

Bethesda covers a lot of space from the District line off Massachusetts Avenue all the way along the Rockville Pike north of the Beltway (where it becomes North Bethesda.) Not everyone wants to live in downtown Bethesda – even if lots of people enjoying shopping, dining and going to movies there. The following are a non-exclusive pair of pet friendly Bethesda buildings to consider. Quarry Ridge is on River Road outside the Beltway and Whitley Park just outside the Beltway on the Rockville Pike. Of course, there are other pet friendly Bethesda buildings to keep in mind in North Bethesda such as White Flint Station, Fallsgrove, Gallery Place and the new Pike and Rose community.

Quarry Springs

Quarry Springs is perfect if you are ready to move to a new luxury condo or townhome set in a gated community with 24/7 security and surrounded by exquisite landscaping. If you are downsizing from a larger home but you don’t want to live in downtown Bethesda, Quarry Springs may be a perfect match for you. The views from your balcony or roof top terrace at Quarry Springs will make you feel like you are living in a private park setting! You will fall in love with the clubhouse and pool and all the other amenities at Quarry Springs!

The 13-acre Quarry Springs property on River Road once was the site of Stoneyhurst Quarries, which provided stone to D.C.-area builders for much of the 20th century. In 2006, Montgomery County approved the construction of nearly 100 luxury condominiums there. But nearly half of the proposed condos were abandoned in favor of 44 luxury townhouses, which were built in 2019-2020 by Wormald.

Located just past Seven Locks Road on River Road, the two condo buildings and 44 townhomes at Quarry Springs offer  easy access to Washington, Bethesda and Potomac and the rest of the metro area by way of I-270 and the Beltway. This luxury gated community is so friendly, the amenities are so thoughtful and the surroundings so beautiful, why would you want to live anywhere else?  You are just outside the Beltway near Seven Locks Road and a short drive to the Potomac River.   You can easily be in downtown Bethesda in 15 minutes for dinner or pulling into the Kennedy Center parking garage for a concert in 30 minutes!   If you are a golfer or tennis player, you will love this location.  There are 5 country clubs within 3 miles, including Congressional, Burning Tree, Bethesda, Kenwood and Avenel.

Quarry Springs is also close to the Westfield Mall and Cabin John Park with all that is offered there.  Whether you want to shop, go to the movies, eat out, or play baseball, ride a miniature train, take your dog to the dog park or ice skate, you can find something to do within five minutes of your new home!

Whitley Park

A bit further north and somewhat outside the buzz of downtown Bethesda is Whitley Park. The one hundred and sixteen condos at Whitley Park were built in 1990 to provide the owners with lots of living space and balconies. The condos range from 1184 square feet to over 2000 square feet.  The condos have one to three bedrooms. Terraces and balconies offer outdoor space and room for grilling in the summer and al fresco dining. Kitchens and baths are spacious and may have been recently updated, depending on the current owner. 

If you are looking for an elegant full-service high-rise community set on the edge of Bethesda and just south of Rockville, with lots of amenities, then the Whitley Park is for you!  With a large pool, covered tennis courts, a fitness center and great front desk the Whitley Park offers a wonderful lifestyle whether you are downsizing or just starting out.  AND IT IS PET FRIENDLY!!

Clearly if you are a tennis player, looking for year-round covered facilities, this is the place to be! And the indoor courts are right outside your door.  How convenient is that!  In addition to the condos, there also are town homes at the Whitley Park.  These also are pet friendly.
