Homestead Farm is much more casual than Butler’s Farm, and definitely belongs on any list of the best pumpkin patches in Motgomery County. At Homestead Farm, the pumpkin patch is a quick walk from the entrance.
While public hayrides are available on weekends, they take a scenic ride through the farm grounds and do not stop at the pumpkin patch. Homestead is a great place to pick apples, peaches, blueberries, blackberries and strawberries in season. The farm is easy to get to from DC and Montgomery County since it is such a pleasant drive out River Road to the end, and then a few more turns. In the fall, they have a variety of apples to choose from, like Jonagolds, Suncrisp, CrimsonCrisps, and Enterprise apples. You have to love a pumpkin farm that has a Sugarland Road address.
