We know that some buyers and sellers are putting their real estate plans on hold temporarily while they are trying to sort out the impact of COVID 19 on the real estate market. However, other clients still are eager to buy and sell. Rest assured, lots of homes are selling in the DC metro area.
The Lise Howe Group is changing how we list, market and show homes during the COVID 19 outbreak to accommodate your safety concerns while still helping make your dreams come true. Although we operate in a service and people oriented business, we recognize that most of what needs to be done in the home-buying and selling process can be done via phone, text, email, Facetime, and video conferencing.
We are showing homes via video and FaceTime, which benefits buyers and sellers by maintaining appropriate physical distancing. We are preparing videos to post to social media of current listings and implementing “virtual open houses” to reduce the number of people coming to see our listings in person while still providing maximum and safe exposure for the sellers. And, we definitely won’t be shaking hands or hugging – until further notice!
For those showings that do take place in person, we suggest sellers provide disinfectant wipes and even a box of gloves for buyers to wear before touching doors, cabinets, etc. For sellers, we also suggest that you disinfect all countertops, handles, knobs, and sinks upon returning to your home after showings. When I am going into properties either to video or Facetime for buyers – or occasionally to meet a buyer – I am bringing my own soap and gloves!
