Crescent Plaza Condos

Convenience and proximity really define the Crescent Plaza Condos.  Grocery shopping is readily available at the Safeway at Bradley Boulevard, the Giant on Arlington Road, the Whole Foods in Friendship Heights and Trader Joe’s across the street on Wisconsin Avenue. Suburban Hospital is about three mile away and Friendship Heights is just a mile away.  The Crescent Plaza Condos are an easy walk to the new Walter Reed Medical Center too and the new Marriot Headquarters. The Bethesda metro is just an eight minute walk north on Wisconsin Avenue while the Friendship Heights metro is an easy stroll south. Crescent Plaza was built in 2000, so the condos all have an open floor plan so popular these days with a kitchen as part of the living space, separated by a breakfast bar.

Many of the units have a small balcony with a view of Bethesda, extra storage and garage parking. The community allows pets which is great since you are so close to the Capital Crescent Trail – the picture perfect place to walk with your favorite canine.    Extra amenities include washers and dryers in each unit and granite and stainless in most condos which have been renovated by the current owners.

You will love living at Crescent Plaza and walking your dog around downtown Bethesda! Pet Smart is just a few blocks away and they have doggie treats for visiting pooches. Lots of restaurants and stores like Peloton on Bethesda Avenue keep water bowls outside their front doors and Silver has certain days designated as happy hour for you and your pup.

The Crescent Plaza is located in a wonderful school district in Montgomery County. The lucky children living here attend Bethesda Elementary, Westland Middle School and Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. There are approximately 2,000 students enrolled at  B-CC. Students come from more than 55 countries.  Approximately 75 percent of students go on to attend a four-year college; 20 percent attend a two-year college.

B-CC has been participating in the International Baccalaureate Program since 1996. The program provides students a liberal arts, interdisciplinary education leading to a diploma recognized throughout the world. Instead of pursuing a full IB diploma, students at B-CC may choose to take one or more IB courses (except Theory of Knowledge) and obtain a certificate for the successful completion of the requirements for each course (more on B-CC’s IB program).

There are several sizes of condos at the Crescent Plaza Condominiums, and prices vary accordingly. For instance a one bedroom unit with 691 square feet, sold for $365,000 in 2015. A one bedroom unit with 744 square feet sold in June 2015 for $375,000.  In August 2019 a 670 square foot one bedroom condo sold for $332,000. A 615 sq ft condo sold for $350,000 in March 2019. In 2021, prices ranged from $335,000 to $350,000 for a one bedroom with 626 square feet and a condo fee of $485 to $360,000 for a 691 square foot condo.  There also was a sale at $350,000 for a 615 square foot condo with a great balcony view of spectacular sunsets!  On the higher side a one bedroom with 946 square feet sold for $495,000 with a condo fee of $635.00.  The highest sale in 2021 was a two bedroom two bath with 1064 square feet and a condo fee of $816.  It sold for $595,000 in August.

Fast forward to 2024 and the prices have come up a bit, reflecting a return to values in condos after the pandemic and the low interest rates which allowed buyers to skip the traditional entry level condos less desirable.

In March 2024, Unit 508, a 633 square foot unit, sold for $365,000 while Unit 314 with 627 square feet sold for $333,000 and Unit 405 with 630 square feet sold for $365,000 in October 2023.
