Top 5 Luxury Condos in Bethesda – 2026 Guide (From Someone Who Sells Them Every Day)

1. The Cheval – Best Overall Luxury Lifestyle

Let’s start with the one of the top 5 Luxury Condos in Bethesda that consistently impresses my buyers.  Located at 4960 Fairmont, The Cheval is a smaller boutique building with 17 floors and 71 units.

Why I love it:

  • Newer construction with sleek, modern finishes
  • Gorgeous kitchens (think Bosch appliances, Caesarstone counters)
  • Rooftop spaces, concierge, fitness center, garage parking with charging stations
  • Walk-to-everything location in Woodmont Triangle

Recent Sales

  • Around $1.5M for ~1,650 sq ft units
  • Penthouses pushing $2.6M+

Pros:

  • True “lock-and-leave” lifestyle
  • Bright, contemporary design
  • Excellent walkability

Cons:

  • Pricing reflects demand
  • Some units face busier streets (urban noise is real)

👉 My take: If you want the best combination of location, finishes, and full-service living, this is usually where I start.  To see more about The Cheval, just click here.

2. The Lauren – Boutique Luxury at Its Finest

The Lauren feels more like a private residence than a condo building—and that’s exactly why some buyers love it.  Located at 4901 Hampden Lane, the Lauren only has forty units so there are not always condos for sale there.  If you want to explore the top 5 Luxury Condos in Bethesda, the Lauren should be on your list!

Highlights:

  • Boutique scale (fewer residences = more privacy)
  • High-end finishes and large floorplans
  • Fitness center + proximity to Equinox and SoulCycle
  • So pet friendly that the concierge keeps doggie biscuits at the front desk

Recent sales:

  • Penthouse: ~$3.8M (2025)
  • Mid-size units: ~$1.3M+ (1450 sq feet)
  • 2 BDR/2.5 BA ~$2.5M (2300+ sq feet)
  • MPDU (with 30-year restriction) $229,000 in 5/2025

Pros:

  • Quiet, refined, less “busy” than larger buildings
  • Larger units than most competitors
  • Feels very exclusive

Cons:

  • Fewer amenities than larger full-service buildings
  • Limited inventory (you may have to wait)

👉 My take: Perfect for buyers who want luxury without the high-rise feel.

3. Stonehall – Modern Boutique with Strong Value

I’ve always liked the Stonehall for buyers who want newer construction without Cheval-level pricing.  With only 46 residences and seven floors, the Stonehall

The Stonehall

stands out in Bethesda’s luxury real estate market. It definitely provides a more intimate and private living experience compared to larger condo developments. This smaller size lets the concierge really get to know the owners and their pets and to be ready with the perfect dinner reservation or contractor referral!  You can check out the Stonehall at 8302 Woodmont Avenue in the northern part of the Woodmont Triangle.  To read more about the Stonehall, just click here.

What stands out:

  • Built 2016–2018 with just 46 units
  • Concierge, rooftop terrace, fitness center
  • Walkable to restaurants, Metro, and NIH

Recent sales:

  • ~ $759K–$850K for 2BR units in 2026
  • $1.6M for a 3 bedr 2 bath 2415 sq ft unit 3/2025

Pros:

  • Boutique feel with full-service amenities
  • Strong value relative to newer buildings
  • Great layouts and natural light

Cons:

  • Smaller building = fewer resale opportunities
  • Less “buzz” than Cheval or Lauren

👉 My take: One of Bethesda’s best-kept secrets for value in luxury.

4. The Adagio – Spacious Floorplans & Quiet Elegance

The Adagio is one of those buildings that doesn’t always get the spotlight—but it should.  Located at 6820 Wisconsin Avenue, the Adagio was built in 2007 at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Bradley Blvd., across from Trader Joe’s and the mini Target.  The Adagio has its own gym, but it is also close to the St. James Club.  When you are exploring the top 5 Luxury Condos in Bethesda, be sure to put the Adagio on your list!

Why buyers consider it:

  • Larger, more traditional layouts
  • Quiet setting slightly removed from the busiest streets
  • Solid construction and good space for the price
  • Stunning two level penthouse units with dramatic staircases

Recent sales (2025):

  • 2BR 1 BA units start around $535K
  • 2BR units around $540K- $790K
  • Larger 3BR units up to ~$1.5M

Pros:

  • More space for the money
  • Less density, quieter feel
  • Good option for downsizers

Cons:

  • Not as “new and shiny” as Cheval or Lauren
  • Amenities are solid but not as elevated

👉 My take: Ideal if you want space and value over flash.

5. Lionsgate – Full-Service Classic Luxury

Lionsgate is a Bethesda staple—and still one of the most reliable choices. There are approximately 160 units at Lionsgate ranging in size from a penthouse unit with over 4000 square feet to less than 700 square feet.  Starting on the third floor up to the twelfth floor there are units ranging from 2000-3000 square feet.  In case you are someone who likes to have an uninterrupted view, Lionsgate has condos for you on the twelfth floor but if you don’t like to be on a high floor, you can still have a large unit that you could exit in an emergency without using an elevator.   If you are in Bethesda, just take a look at 7710 Woodmont Avenue and admire the fantastic lions out in front of the building!

What you get:

  • 24-hour concierge, valet, rooftop terrace
  • Fitness center, clubroom, library
  • Steps to restaurants, Metro, Bethesda Row
  • Target across the street and a Trader Joe’s too!

Recent sales:

  • ~$250K (MPDU units) up to $1.4M+ for large residences

Pros:

  • Full-service building with strong reputation
  • Larger building = more inventory
  • Prime walkable location

Cons:

  • Older than newer competitors
  • Finishes vary by unit (some need updating)

👉 My take: A safe, proven choice—especially if you want service and location.
