What makes the Kenwood Condos So Special?
Life at the Kenwood is like living with an extended family. You get to know your neighbors – and you are glad that you do – because they are so varied and interesting. You love how attentive and caring the staff is. Chris Cooper, one of the front desk people, has worked at the Kenwood for 11 years. That says a lot of the type of people who work at the Kenwood and about how the staff feels about the owners and occupants.
With 311 total units on 19 floors, there are lots of options to choose from at the Kenwood. Units range from about 500 square feet to over 2600 square feet. Included in the 311 units are several commercial condos that are perfect for a doctor or small business. Built in 1980, the Kenwood offers traditional condo floorplans with enclosed kitchens, good storage, and walk in closets. Parking is not a problem here with the newly renovated parking garage! The Kenwood is even better than before now that the lobby has been redecorated and the garage completely rebuilt!
Sales History at the Kenwood Condos
In 2016, prices ranged from $214,900 for a one bedroom 1000 foot condo to $600,000 for a four bedroom four bath condo on two levels with 2720 square feet of living space and 3 parking spaces. This condo was made by combining two condos.
In the first three quarters on 2017, prices ranged from $211000 for a small one bedroom with 1026 square feet to a list price of $495,000 for a property with three bedrooms and two full baths and 1467 square feet of living space. A similarly sized condo sold for $371,500 in early September 2017.
In late 2021, prices have ranged from $246,000 for a one bedroom with 1040 square feet that closed in November 2021 to a two bedroom two bath unit with 1360 square feet that sold in earlier 2021 for $495,000 and a 1467 square foot unit that sold for $511,000 in July 2021. Other recent sales include a 1073 square foot unit sold for $260,000 also in November. A two bedroom two bath unit with 1336 square feet closed in June 2021 for $315000 while another of the same size sold for $356,700 in July 2021. A unit with 1467 square feet sold for $420,000 in September 2021.

Condo Fees at the Kenwood
Condo fees include all utilities, a great front desk, exercise room, party facilities, a pool, sauna, barbecue grills, and security. A home with 1040 square feet and one bedroom had a condo fee of $840 in 2021. A 1336 square foot two bedroom condo had a condo fee of $1006 in 2021. A condo with 1447 square feet had a condo fee of $1153 during the same time period.
What is Nearby the Kenwood Condos
Although the Kenwood is located on River Road at Little Falls, a very quiet area in Bethesda, the building is just a short mile stroll to downtown Bethesda along the Little Falls Parkway and another mile back toward Washington and Friendship Heights. Metro access is available at both the Bethesda station and Friendship Heights. Lots of buses run up and down River Road on a frequent basis, also providing quick access to Friendship Heights and Montgomery Mall.
Grocery shopping is readily available at the Whole Foods just three blocks up River Road. In addition to the Whole Foods, you can have a pizza dinner at Ledo’s and finish it off with a trip to the Sarah’s Handmade Ice cream or pick up bagels at Georgetown Bagels. This whole part of Bethesda will undergo a major renovation in the next few years with Westbard becoming a small town center offering high rise condos and apartments, new restaurants and shops. I am sure that this will have a positive effect on prices at the Kenwood.
There are not many restaurants immediately nearby, but there are a carryout Chinese restaurant and Ledo’s Pizza within a five block radius.
Geico headquarters are less than a mile away, and then in Friendship Heights is the local Microsoft headquarters, and a variety of retail establishments and hotels.
