The Carleton on N Park

Do you want a smaller elegant building in the heart of Chevy Chase, Maryland with a doorman who greets you by name? Do you dream of a luxury building with a great 24 hour front desk? Is a heated outdoor pool your idea of heaven? Is Pet Friendly a necessity? Then your condo search begins and ends with the Carleton! Located at 4550 N Park in Chevy Chase, The Carleton is smaller and newer than its neighbors, the Elizabeth and 4620 North Park.

The Carleton offers truly flexible living arrangements for home buyers. You can choose from one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom condos with balconies and full sized in unit washers and dryers.  Some owners have even combined units to create unique floorplans.  Here is a link to the ten standard floorplans at the Carleton.

The Carleton is just half a mile from the Friendship Heights metro station, from the Shops at Wisconsin Place, and a from number of other highly rated restaurants in Chevy Chase. The Village of Friendship Heights offers a free shuttle, a great community center with lots going on, and a friendly atmosphere.

The Carleton has a party room, lending library, card room, fitness center with locker room and sauna facility, heated outdoor swimming pool with sun deck, bicycle lock up in the garage, tree-lined courtyard garden, property manager and building engineer on-site and on-call, 24 hour front desk, and lots of community events within the building.  As a relocation specialist, this is one of my favorite buildings.

Your Relocation Specialist Loves The Chase

Downtown Bethesda is amazing! There are so many luxury condo buildings appearing, seemingly on every corner.  The only problem is that these are all very expensive buildings.

Bethesda condos with poolsWhat is available for someone who wants to stay in the mid 300’s for a one bedroom and the mid $500s to $600s for a nice condo with two bedrooms and a gorgeous pool?  The first choice should be The Chase at 7500 Woodmont Avenue, just across from the Bethesda Metro.  The building has a pool, exercise room, 24 hour front desk, parking, storage units, and a picnic and grill area.  There are even tennis courts.  You will feel like you are at a country club in the heart of Bethesda when you live here! There are approximately 250 condominiums in a twelve story building at the edge of the Woodmont Triangle and the northern end of downtown Bethesda. It is a short walk to NIH and Walter  Reed and literally across the street from the Bethesda Metro. This condo community is close to  all the shops and stores that Bethesda has to offer.

Pets are so welcomed at the Chase that the concierge at the front desk always has dog treats right next to the hard candies for two legged visitors!


The Christopher

Built in 1992, the Christopher is at 4808 Moorland Lane in downtown Chevy Chase. There are 13 floors with 150 units and 4 non-residential units typically occupied by medical practices.  The Christopher amenities include a front desk that is staffed 24/7, controlled access, a Swimming Pool with locker rooms and a fitness center, a party room and an inviting lobby.  Pets are welcome at the Christopher and rentals are allowed.  The rental policy is helpful if you are relocating to Bethesda for only a few years and want to keep your new home as an investment in the future. 

The Christopher Condominium in Bethesda MD is a great place to call home, particularly if you want to walk to the Metro, you have a dog, or you want a condo with a pool.  If you want all three, then you should look here or at the Christopher! The smallest one bedrooms are 532 square feet or 537 square feet.  Other one bedrooms are 664 square feet.  The two bedroom one bath units start at 761 square feet  while the two bedroom two bath condos are between 877 and approximately 1000 square feet. In addition there are several 3 bedroom on the penthouse level with approximately 1350 square feet of space.  Some of the units even have fireplaces.  Many of them have oversized balconies offering a spectacular view of Bethesda.  The Christopher was built in 1992 so it is lead free and has more energy efficient features than the older buildings in Bethesda.  If this looks like a place you would like to focus on, then give me a call.  As your relocation specialist, I can put together a search just for you.

Chelsea Tower – Bethesda Condos with Pools

Located at 7401 Westlake Terrace, Bethesda MD, the Chelsea Tower Condominium is across the street from the Westlake Towers Condominium and within three blocks of Montgomery Mall. The condo provides an outdoor pool, tennis courts, all exterior maintenance, party room, sauna and exercise room.  There is underground parking for residents, lots of surface outside parking, and storage units for many of the condos.  Chelsea Tower is located on a quiet street which ends at a charming little lake. The high rise and its property are surrounded by Cabin John Park, one of Montgomery County’s largest parks.

The Elizabeth Condos

Are you looking a high rise elegant building in the heart of Friendship Heights in Chevy Chase, Maryland? Do you expect a full service building with a great 24 hour front desk? Do you like to swim in an indoor pool in your own condo building? Then you should start your condo search with the Elizabeth, The Elizabeth Condominium, located at 4601 N Park is in the heart of Friendship Heights and an easy walk to everything that you might ever want! The Elizabeth is well known for its shopping arcade, indoor pool, and piano on the first floor of its party room.

Built in 1975, the Elizabeth is a high rise building of eighteen floors and approximately 363 units in total, including several commercial properties.

The 01 tier is very spacious with 1086 square feet of space and one bedroom and one and a half baths. The 02 tier is still a one bedroom but with a bath and a half and nearly 1000 square feet of space. The 03 tier and 04 tier are  two bedroom one and a half bath unit with approximately 1150 square feet. The smallest coops at the Elizabeth are a spacious 708 square feet for the one bedroom one bath units, found in 05 East tier.  Larger one bedrooms in the 10, 12 and 15 tiers are 860-950 square feet of space. If you want large – then you should look for the 08 tier with 1650 feet of living space and three bedrooms and three full baths. Whatever your needs for space, there is a floor plan for you at the Elizabeth.

4520 N Park Condos

Bethesda condos with pools offer lots of choices from small buildings like the Carleton to large ones like the Promenade or Parkside.  Built in 1973, 4620 N Park is a high rise building with an outdoor pool, seventeen floors and approximately 290 units in total. Life at 4620 N Park is glorious. Everything you need is nearby from grocery stores like the Whole Foods and Giant to fine shops and stores like Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale, good restaurants like Sushi-Ko, movie theaters and commuter routes around the city. Located on Park Avenue, 4620 N Park condominiums is one of the smaller condo buildings on the street. Parking is never a problem here with the parking garage and lots of spaces for the residents! Plus… You can leave your car in the garage for weeks on end because the Friendship Heights Metro is just a few blocks away and provides easy access to DC and the rest of the metro area.  As your relocation specialist, I definitely recommend this one.

Parkside Condos

Parkside Condos is a popular community for people looking for space and value. Located at the edge of Bethesda, it offers lots of convenience and proximity to metro, the Beltway, I-270, downtown Bethesda and Rockville. Residents love the pool and tennis, tot lots, the wooded location, and mid-century modern architecture. Parking is easy with lots of surface lots. The community is not pet friendly.

Parkside Condos are distinguished by their spaciousness, affordability and great location at the edge of Bethesda! Amenities include pool and tennis!  If you are looking for an reasonably priced Bethesda Md condo that gives you the option of walking to the Stratford Music Center or biking into Bethesda or hopping on the Beltway and I-270 easily, then Parkside is your first choice. Located in a wooded setting, these condos are spacious and peaceful – and yet so close to everything. You would never imagine that you are just a few blocks away from the Grosvenor Metro (Red Line). You are also very close to the Walter Reed Medical Center, NIH, Marriott Headquarters, and the new Pike and Rose, with all the shops, movie theaters, bowling alley, and restaurants you could imagine. Pike and Rose is so big and innovative that it even has its own beach and a boat as a restaurant!  The elementary school, Garrett Park, is well regarded by the families that attend.

Parkside was built between 1952 and 1966 as a rental community and converted to condo ownership in 1981.  It is a medium sized community of 954 units in 102 buildings located in a wooded setting spread over 69 acres.  There is one efficiency with 354 square feet, lots of one bedroom condos, two bedrooms condos, some with one bath or one and a half or two full baths, and three bedrooms with two baths. There is a condo for almost every need and taste at Parkside. The Promenade

Are you thinking of downsizing? Maybe you want lots of amenities but you really don’t want the hustle of downtown Bethesda.  Are you tired of living in a big house without interaction with your neighbors and friends? Then the Promenade Co-op is clearly for you!  Click here to see all the coops currently on the market at the Promenade.  Here are all the other condos and coops for sale in the 20814 which are similar to the Promenade.

If you want to get in on the ground floor of a coop on the move, you should choose the Promenade.  It is going through a big makeover which is going to make it absolutely beautiful! The lower level concourse has recently been completely renovated and Chef Tony’s has opened a restaurant there with Italian seafood as their focus.  In the summer, you can dine outside on the patio by the pool too.  The pool is the largest in Montgomery County and distinctive with the big P painted on its bottom!

The lobby is going to be redone with a fireplace and intimate seating areas.

The Promenade Bethesda condos with poolsThe onsite management and the front desk are friendly, competent and thoughtful – which is not always the case at some of the large condo buildings nearby.

Set in over 20 acres of greenery, the Promenade sets a high bar for luxury in Bethesda at an affordable price.  Located on Pooks Hill Road, the two towers of the Promenade give an exceptional view of the area from Sugar Loaf Mountain to the north to Washington DC to the south. You even have a great view of the tower at Walter Reed, the Mormon Temple and Silver Spring beyond that.  I am sure that every relocation specialist you consult would give the Promenade high marks.

The Willoughby

Willoughby Condos with poolsIn addition to all that is available just steps outside the front doors of the Willoughby, The Willoughby’s residents enjoy the convenience of many amenities, like a huge rooftop pool, without stepping foot outside. Those who enjoy a vibrant social atmosphere find a dynamic community here, with resident-planned activities taking place throughout the year.

  • Front Desk The front desks at the entrances of both the North and South buildings are staff around the clock, seven days a week.  The front desk staff accepts packages for residents, admits visitors, and issues parking passes for guests.
  • Controlled Access The Willoughby’s many entrance doors and garage doors are accessible only through the use of an access control card, issued by the Management Office. Residents may admit their guests by phone, using the entry phone at each of three locations. The guest simply dials the unit number and the resident uses the telephone to open the door.
  • Convenience Store The Willoughby Market, located in the South lobby on Willard Avenue, provides a full assortment of canned, frozen and refrigerated foods, toiletries and sundries, bottled wine and beer, soft drinks, ice cream, magazines and newspapers.  The convenience store is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Valet Shop The Valet Shop provides laundry and dry cleaning services, as well as shoe repair.   Other services, including video rentals and faxing, are also available. The Valet Shop is located near the service elevators by the loading dock on the 7th floor.
  • Exercise Room   On the roof level, the exercise room has commercial grade treadmills, elliptical trainers, recumbent bikes, a five stage multi-gym and barbells.  The exercise room is open from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • Laundry Facilities On each resident floor, there are two laundry rooms, one in the North building and one in the South building. Washers and dryers are operated using stored value cards available in mail rooms of both the North and South buildings.  The laundry rooms are open from 7a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Library The Willoughby Library on the roof level is a completely resident operated amenity.  Books are donated by the residents, shelved by the residents and borrowed by the residents.
  • Party Room  This amenity is located on the Lobby level of the South Building, has recently been remodeled in an elegant architectural design, and now includes a caterer’s kitchen, a moveable bar, a portable dance floor, and a drop-down screen for video, slide, or photo viewing. Residents and owners may reserve the room, which accommodates up to 100, to host their social functions—for a fee, through the Management Office.
  • Restaurant  Alfio’s La Trattoria is a traditional Italian restaurant in the condo complex.  It is open seven days a week, offers free valet parking, and carry out.
  • Roof Top Lounge and Deck The heated and air-conditioned rooftop lounge offers a relaxing place to get together with other residents, play table games, or enjoy the quietude of a comfortable place to read. It opens on to a beautifully constructed wooden deck that overlooks the Friendship Heights and Chevy Chase shopping districts. The deck is a pleasant place to view the holiday fireworks displays. Though the lounge is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., the outdoor deck is open daily from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. or half an hour after sunset, whichever occurs later.
  • The Willoughby Pool was renovated in 2001 and now offers a full sized pool as well as a children’s wading pool.  The on site Management Office provides the seasonal pool passes.

The Whitehall

The Whitehall condos are a short walk to the Bethesda and NIH metros.  This mid century modern community has a big pool and tot pool plus a fitness center, front desk and lots of parking. Many of the condos have large balconies and views of Bethesda.  Best of all, they are reasonably priced, although their condo fee is on the higher side since all the utilities and amenities are included.  If this sounds like what you are looking for, click here to see what is for sale now at the Whitehall. Located at the edge of Chevy Chase, just a stone’s throw from the District line is a 17 acre oasis of elegance, security and privacy – home to the Somerset House Condominium community. Leave the driver behind and walk to the best luxury shopping in all of Washington DC. Somerset House is actually three luxury buildings built from 1988 to 1998 and each building is a separately created condo association. If you are looking for a luxurious condo, so close to DC, but in a quiet area with a sense of serenity, then you should start and end your search at the Somerset House Condominiums.
